Personalized Surf Coaching

My Approach

My approach goes beyond technique — it’s about connection, awareness, and gratitude for each moment in the ocean. Surfing becomes a moving meditation, where you learn to tune into your body, your breath, and the rhythm of the sea. With mindful attention to movement and energy, I help you refine your technique while deepening your connection to nature and yourself. Each session is an opportunity for growth, presence, and joy — both in the water and in life.standing of the specific body mechanics that enable each surfing maneuver,
I will identify the movements that contribute to success, flow, and fun.


During our coaching sessions we will
1) Discuss your goals
2) Identify the movements, thoughts, & emotions necessary to reach those goals

3) Describe how these changes will lead to success of your goals;
4) Provide physical and mental training methods to practice outside of surfing

Online video analysis

Surf/ Ocean Instruction Outline

  1. Phone conversation to evaluate and provide a surf analysis, decide  when and where is best for your surf coaching session. (Surf conditions are constantly changing, I monitor them and may offer a change for a better experience.) 
  2. Beach meetup for an evaluation of your equipment and where you are at on your surfing journey.
  3. Ocean & beach education: surf break, currents, swell, tides,  paddling out, crowds and safety.
  4. How to read and interpret the surf forecast.
  5. Placement of body and weight on the board.
  6. Best paddling technique and options for getting through the surf.
  7. How to pop up and get down the line most effectively.
  8. How to find your speed line and make a wave.
  9. Determining your style and finding flow.
  10. When to execute a manuever. 
  11. Mechanics on how to do maneuvers: bottom turn, cross stepping, cutback, noseriding, off the top, floaters, barrel riding, stalling, switch stance, drop knee (any type of surfboard)
  12. Preparing your mind & emotions, dealing with thoughts or fears and how to set yourself up for a good surf.
  13. A visualization practice for out of the water training. 
  14. Physical fitness/ balance  training practices/ strength training for surfing. 
  15. Video analysis-review video of your surf session with surf analysis.
  16. Holistic health coaching
  17. Competition strategies and preparation.
  18. Surf board design & shopping for equipment

Surf Development Coaching

The list of offerings is a summary of topics I can share.  Expect to spend some time on the beach.  Depending on your level of surfing and what you would like me to cover will determine what we work on.  Minimum surf coaching session is 1.5 hours.
